Family counselling is unique in that it usually involves multiple people with complicated histories and interactions including parents, siblings, relatives, in-laws, and children. The dynamics shift when more than two people are involved as alliances and triangles may form causing added dimensions to communications. It becomes necessary that all parties be involved and contribute to the counselling process.
